The big news story of the last couple days has been how Prince Harry of
England has been serving for 10 1/2 weeks in Afghanistan. However, with the
recent disclosure of this information to the public, the English government has
decided that it is now too risky for the Prince to continue serving with his unit
in Afghanistan.

To me, this seems like a wasted opportunity. Unfortunately for all of us, the
powers that be in London and Washington D.C. are missing the chance to lure
the bad guys into the trap of all traps (even the "mother of all traps", as the late
Saddam Hussein might have called it). If the enemy is so determined to kill a
"high priority" target like Prince Harry, then why aren't we using this to our
advantage? I know Afghanistan is a country filled with rough terrain, but Iraq
has vast expanses of desert. Why not ship Prince Harry, and maybe his brother
(and maybe the Bush twins for good measure) over to one of the Iraqi deserts.
We could put them in the middle of it, where we could see everyone and
everything coming for miles, and then just sit back and wait for the evildoers
to attack. Since they'd be in the middle of a desert, it should be easy to protect
them. Harry, William, Jenna and Barbara could just sit there and play cards or
video games, or make arts and crafts, or maybe even read a book. And our
troops would pick off the bad guys en masse, or one by one, or in pairs, or
however the bad guys might present themselves during their attack.

I'll leave the working out of the details and particulars to those who have more
training in the military arts, but it seems to me that this is an easy
opportunity for us to strike a decisive blow against those who wish us harm. I
don't want to denigrate the intelligence, vision or creativity of my opponents
in the 2008 presidential race, but frankly I don't see any of them taking the
initiative like me and coming up with the "outside the box" solutions that the
world around us demands...
